Chuck Stranahan

Chuck Stranahan is recognized by other professional fly tyers as one of the finest in the trade. His flies blend techniques learned from other masters with his own innovations, and are featured in books by Greg Thomas, Jack Dennis, Randall Kauffman, and others. Now some of his more popular and productive patterns are available to a broader angling public through Montana Fly Company and their dealers. Chuck lives with his wife Jan in Montana’s Bitterroot Valley where he writes, and continues to design and tie his fish-catching patterns. He also runs Chuck Stanahan’s Flies & Guides in Hamilton, Montana.
