Angelo Musiani

Angelo Musiani started tying flies in Bologna in 1970, and then professionally in 1975, ultimately starting his own fly tying factory in 1985. He was the first to introduce the design of counter-drilled fly tying beads in Europe, and later in the USA. After having great results from his beads, he next designed the very first machined cone-heads. Aside from putting the first beads and cones on the USA market, Angelo is also attributed as being the first to introduce CDC patterns in America. Additionally, there are more than 20 different commonly used fly-tying materials that Angelo either developed independently, or had a large partin their development. He is never short on ideas, and is constantly on the water (from Italy and Austria to Venezuela and the Florida Keys) testing his latest creations. He says the permit usually spook as soon as his flight lands in Miami, but we do not believe him.
