Allen McGee is a fly fisherman, fly designer, and the author of Tying & Fishing Soft-Hackled Nymphs as well as many magazine articles on trout fly fishing. His philosophy in designing flies is that the fly should not only look realistic but it should behave realistically as well. He achieves this effect through using materials that become activated by stream currents. His flies not only imitate the size, shape, and color; but they simulate life through movement. He has fished extensively throughout the East coast, Midwest, and the Rocky Mountain states. He resides in Atlanta, GA.
